Laura Reichenbach

Laura Reichenbach is a senior associate and project director of Breakthrough RESEARCH, a USAID-funded Council-led consortium aiming to improve healthy behaviors and norms across key global health areas. Before joining the Population Council, she was social scientist and director of the Center for Reproductive Health at icddr,b in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her research has addressed such reproductive health issues as family planning and unintended pregnancy, adolescent reproductive health, maternal health, cervical cancer, and STIs and HIV/AIDS. She also has expertise in implementation science research and has worked on issues of gender and human resources for health. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and two edited volumes on reproductive health and gender and the health workforce. Reichenbach has experience in a variety of geographic settings, with particular experience in South Asia where she spent more than 10 years living and working in Pakistan and Bangladesh. 

Reichenbach received her master’s in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and her doctoral degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
