Mark Mitchnick

Mark Mitchnick is a physician and entrepreneur who holds approximately 35 issued and pending patents. His first company, sunSmart, Inc., was based on his patents for the use of nano-zinc oxide as a sunscreen, sold worldwide to pharmaceutical and personal care companies. In 2002, Mark became the founding Chief Science Officer of International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM). He later returned to IPM as a Director and eventual Chair of the Finance Committee and worked closely with management to structure IPM’s 2022 acquisition by the Population Council. Currently, Mitchnick is CEO of Red Queen Therapeutics, a clinical stage venture-backed antiviral company, and is director of several startup companies.
