Mina Gerowin is a renowned business leader and currently the Non-Exec Director of CQS Asset Management Ltd, a credit-focused multi-strategy asset manager. She is also the Director of 100 Women in Finance where she founded their “Maths4Girls” program in the UK, and is on the Advisory Board of the Royal United Services Institute. She has been awarded 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ European Leadership Award (now 100 Women in Finance), was named multiple times as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Finance by the Hedge Fund Journal/Financial News, and was a Finalist for Dow Jones Financial News’ Hedge Fund Woman of the Year.
Ronald F. Geary, CPA is a finance and management professional with more than 40 years of experience within government and non-profit sector organizations. Throughout his career he has adapted to the ever-changing regulatory and business needs of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) by staying up to date with current knowledge through a continuous learning approach. He has pursued effective systems and controls to bring financial stability to each organization and has advocated for continual organizational learning to identify and eliminate outdated processes and approaches that no longer serve the needs of the organization or its clients. His leadership experience most recently includes two tenures as Chief Financial Officer & Vice-President at the global health organization Jhpiego, in Baltimore. As well as Chief Financial Officer, at IntraHealth International, in Chapel Hill, NC.
Fransje van der Waals received her medical degree and doctorate in philosophy from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Amsterdam. She taught and led the Women’s Health Studies Department and is Professor in Global Health Education at the same university. She managed the Family Study of Antiretroviral Therapy (FAST) study on PMTCT and AIDS treatment in rural India in 2001. Since 2003 she has been the founding director of Health[e]Foundation, a distance computer-based training program for health care workers in the developing world that are involved in treatment and care of HIV/AIDS patients as well as Maternal and Child Health. Distance trainings have been given to more than 40,000 healthcare workers in seven languages across 30 countries worldwide.
The Population Council is governed by an international Board of Trustees with diverse representatives bringing expertise in disciplines ranging from global health, medicine, finance and marketing.
