The Coalition for Adolescent Girls (CAG) and Population Council’s Girl Innovation, Research, and Learning (GIRL) Center are thrilled to announce a new partnership. The GIRL Center will now host the CAG, a coalition of 80 organizations dedicated to supporting, investing in, and improving adolescent girls’ lives―a move that will contribute to stronger and more collaborative action across the adolescent-girl ecosystem globally.

As we head into the 20th year of the establishment of the Coalition for Adolescent Girls, its partnership with GIRL Center amplifies our collective work toward a more equitable world for adolescent girls. Together, we will amplify advocacy, research and best practice models as well as expand and inspire our membership base in new ways. – Carrie Ellett and Divya Srinivasan, CAG Co-chairs

Uniting for collective advocacy and resource mobilization: the GIRL Center will support CAG’s fiduciary, administrative, and thought-leadership roles for stronger member-led action, advocacy, and resource mobilization. The CAG and GIRL Center will utilize digital and in-person platforms and networks to amplify girls’ voices, the voices of Global South girl-centered organizations, and advocate for investments and priorities that impact adolescent girls most.

We are very excited about this new partnership between the GIRL Center and the CAG. This will enable more synergies within the ecosystem of actors in the adolescent girls space and aligns with the GIRL Center’s Roadmap to 2030. Together we are more likely to deliver meaningful change for girls. Karen Austrian, Director, GIRL Center

About CAG: The Coalition for Adolescent Girls, a global member-led coalition, with more than 80 member-organizations, is dedicated to supporting, investing in, and improving adolescent girls’ lives. CAG drives new, and existing programming, policies, and investments that promote adolescent girls’ rights and opportunities, and envisions a world where girls fully realize their rights, navigate challenges, and access opportunities during the transition from childhood to adulthood and beyond. Since inception, the coalition has brought together a diverse group of members from across the globe, advocated for adolescent girls through events and conferences, signed on to actions for advocacy, particularly for US government funding increases, convened working groups to bring programmatic learnings to members and improve quality of adolescent girl focused interventions, and distributed the Adolescent Girls Dispatches to over 1,500 subscribers highlighting the voices of adolescent girls.

About GIRL Center: The Girl Innovation, Research, and Learning (GIRL) Center, is one of Population Council’s global innovation hubs, launched in 2017, that envisions a gender-equitable world where adolescents, especially girls, make a healthy and safe transition into adulthood and reach their full potential. The Center drives evidence-based action with a suite of tools, interventions, and dashboards, including the Adolescent Data Hub, the Adolescent Atlas for Action, the Adolescent Girls Community of Practice, and has adolescent-focused researchers across 16 countries in the Global South.
