Benjamin Laban has served as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Consultant for the Bill and Melinda Gates-funded IntegratE 2.0 project in Gombe since February 2022. His role involves monitoring, collecting, and analyzing data from Community Pharmacists (CPs) and Proprietary Patent Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) for family planning, child health, nutrition, and malaria interventions. He trains CPs, PPMVs, staff, and volunteers on data capture tools and reporting, ensuring data quality through regular site visits and assessments. Laban provides quarterly feedback to the RME Project Director on Data Quality Assessments (DQA) and site supervision. He also supports data-driven decision-making, conducts gap analyses, and facilitates training to improve monitoring and evaluation (M&E) skills. Additionally, he contributes to the development of Performance Monitoring Plans and M&E workplans. His work ensures compliance with reporting timelines, strengthens national reporting systems, and generates gap analyses to track facility progress toward achieving program targets.
Laban is a data analyst and research specialist with over six years of cumulative experience in the development sector. His expertise lies in public health informatics, with a core focus on monitoring and evaluation, strategic information, research, and project management. With an academic background in health education and postgraduate qualifications in public health, Laban has continuously sharpened his skills through numerous professional trainings, particularly in M&E.
Laban holds a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Public Health from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, completed in March 2021. He also earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Health Education from the University of Maiduguri, Borno, Nigeria, in December 2016. These qualifications underpin his expertise in public health.
