The United Nations Civil Society Conference is the premier event on the civil society calendar at the United Nations. The Conference offers civil society organizations an opportunity to put a global perspective on a specific issue and brings together senior UN System officials, prominent international civil society organizations, youth changemakers, academia, public opinion makers, and international media to discuss issues of global concern. This international forum, expected to host some 1500 participants, will provide preliminary discussions and data ahead of the Summit of the Future in September 2024 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The Population Council GIRL Center’s Evalin Karijo will be attending the conference and the GIRL Center is co-leading an ImPACT Coalition, “Youth and Intergenerational Engagement: Collective Action for Youth, Adolescents and Older Generations.” The GIRL Center will make the case for adolescent girls in the coalition’s action plan based on our evidence and that of the Girls Deliver community.

Youth and Intergenerational Engagement: Collective Action for Youth, Adolescents and Older Generations
Co-convened by Major Group For Children and Youth, HelpAge International and Population Council GIRL Center
This coalition session aims to be a collaborative platform for children, youth, adolescents, older people, and all generations in all their diversity and geographical settings to connect, work together and share expertise to meaningfully engage in the processes of the Pact for the Future (including its Annexes) and follow-up. The engagements will complement the aim for a collective future that safeguards intergenerational and sustainable wellbeing.
Do you have language proposals and inputs for the Pact for the Future, how it should be implemented and how key proposals from children, young people, adolescents, and older people can be integrated in the Summit of the Future?
