Sexually transmitted infections—Why you need to care and what you can do to address this growing public health crisis

Oral Session | 12:00–1:00 pm | Location: TBD

The global non-viral sexually transmitted infection (STI) epidemic is escalating and disproportionately impacting high-risk communities. Rates of non-viral STIs including Syphilis, Neisseria gonorrhea (NG) and Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infection in many countries are surging yet lack the attention it deserves given the broad-reaching impact these infections have on women’s health and maternal-child health. The goal of this session will be to discuss the epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections along with health implications, evidence-based strategies, and initiatives to expedite diagnoses and treatment to reduce the ongoing spread and provide a framework for mitigating this surge through the development of new prevention products and multipurpose prevention technologies.

  2. Wednesday 10/11

Concurrent Session | 9:20-10:20 am CEST | Location: TBD
