Edward Oche maintains business continuity by keeping the Council’s effectiveness and efficiency; defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans with robust IT tools and equipment; supporting routine maintenance of software and hardware; keeping nodes on the network up to date with recent patches; preserving Council’s assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures; supporting information security control structures; providing telecom support; and ensuring availability of Internet connectivity service. He also scripts survey questionnaires, and trains ad-hoc staff on data collection, on Open Data Kits (SurveyCTO, Kobotoolbox, etc.)  RedCap on Android platforms, and Azure Chatbot. He also works as the team lead and research coordinator for some Population Council studies, and supports other program activities.

Oche has over 12 years of experience in information technology; four years in Julius Berger; several years as a consultant in the non-governmental sector like The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (PIC center), Nkama Ye Obase, Diadem Consult; and six years in different capacities in the Information Technology unit of Population Council, Nigeria.

Oche holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria and is completing a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) on Information Technology from the National Open University.
