Larisa Kizima conducts research in the Council’s Center for Biomedical Research.
Before joining the Council in 2009, Kizima worked for Rockefeller University on the Gene Expression Nervous System Atlas (GENSAT), one of the first large-scale efforts to determine where specific genes are expressed in the brain and spinal cord. The project provides the scientific community with tools to catalog, map, and electrophysiologically record from individual cells. Before this, she worked in the pharmacological department of Columbia University.
Kizima has collaborated on numerous peer-reviewed publications. She received her MA in biology from Kharkov University in Ukraine.
