The Population Council and our scientists were recognized for:
- The Population Council won an award for advances in contraceptive development. CBR scientists and our partners at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the Lundquist Institute were winners of the 2023 Gizmodo Science Fair for developing a promising male contraceptive gel, known as the NES/T gel.
- Zeba Sathar was awarded the Development Leadership Award from Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives.
- Chelsea Polis was the winner of the 2023 John Maddox Prize which recognizes individuals who stand up for science, despite hostility, to bring evidence to the public.
- Sanyukta Mathur was selected for the 2023 North America Cohort of the WomenLift Health Leadership Journey.
- Beth Kanwana was selected for the 2023 East Africa Cohort of the WomenLift Health Leadership Journey.
- Thoai Ngo gave the annual Michael Sherraden Lecture Series on the future of the 1.8 billion young people at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Social Work.
